By definition contractors work on other people’s premises often to carryout work that is out of the normal range of the client. Consequently contractors introduce hazards/risks to the premises and are exposed to the hazards/risks associated with the client’s work.
So clients need the reassurance that their contractors have suitable arrangements in place to protect their people and premises. Therefore contractors need to be able to satisfy the client’s contractor approval process. Some clients will undertake their own assessments through an approved contractor list, others will expect contractors to have one of the many external accreditations such as CHAS, Safe Contractor, Construction Line etc..
SWSM has helped a wide range of contractors to gain third party and customer accreditations including electricians, plumbers and cleaners.
